Blister Repairs

Marine America can service all of your blister repair needs.  We are conveniently located in St. Petersburg, FL just off of i275.  Our on the water location and 55 Ton Travel lifts allows you to bring boats of all makes and models.  Blister Repairs occur when water passes through the gel coat.  Over time pressure builds up and the blisters become more and more of a problem.  Make sure to bring your boat to your Tampa Bay Area blister repair specialist.

This is the process that our experienced staff at Marine America uses to repair blisters on your boat.

1.     Grind The Blisters down to the fiberglass matting, until no sign of the blister is apparent

2.     Let the blisters dry out completely.

3.     Clean the area

4.     Fill the blistered area with fiberglass

5.     When the fiberglass is completely dry, sand and fair down the surface so that it is smooth.

6.     Once the repair has been faired out, the area is cleaned.

7.     Apply two coats of epoxy

8.     Once the epoxy coat is dry, bottom paint is applied
