Directions to Marine America by Land & Water
FROM SOUTH, SARASOTA:
Take 275 N to Exit 17 (54th Ave S.) At the intersection of 54th Ave S and 34th St S (also US Hwy 19), take left at light. Go one block and turn right at 37th St. S and ahead 2 blocks.
FROM NORTH, ST. PETERSBURG/TAMPA:
Take 275 S to Exit 17 (54th Ave S.) Turn right on 54th Ave S. Cross over 34th St (which is also US Hwy 19)
Turn right at 37th Street S. and ahead 2 blocks.
By Water To Marine America Channel
From the North - Proceed south from the Corey Ave. Causeway Bridge until Red "32" is a Beam, then turn left between it and Green "17" head approximately 60 degrees to Red "16" turn right and head approximately 135 degrees..on the other side of the bay you will see a small fixed bridge, to the left of the bridge you will see a group of new high rise condo's that mark the south side of Marine America canal. Continue on your course of 135 degrees and about 3/4 of the way across the bay you will pick up our Red "10" on your port side, leave it to starboard and you are in Marine America canal.
FROM THE SOUTH (TAMPA)
Come under the Skyway Bridge or
Misner Bridge West bound to the channel that runs north and south paralleling the interstate... Boats over 16' in height: at the meeting of the main channel (east and west) with the north and south channel just to the west of the new fixed bridge ("Misner" referred to on Bayway Structure "E") and pick "Passagrille Channel" at Red "24". Head north under Structure "C" to Red day mark "2" leaving Red "2" on your right head 45 degrees to Green day mark "3"..From "3" head 50 degrees to Green day mark "5", at this time you should be able to see down Marine America channel, the first Red for Marine America channel will be day Mark "10".
Boats under 16' in height: continue north along the shore at Green day mark "7" the channel dog legs to the left and back to the right, follow the channel under the bridge Structure "A" heading northwest until you pass Red day mark "14", off to your right you will see a Red day mark "10" just off the north side of Cat's Point (the high rise condo's) which marks the entrance to Marine America canal.
COMING FROM SARASOTA
Proceed to the west side of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and at the north end of the bridge you will pick up the north/south channel at Green fixed light "1" (approximately one mile north of Red "26" in the main shipping channel) proceed north as above for over or under 16' height.
FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO
From Red "2" of the north channel (Passagrille Channel) come in the cut and turn north until you get to structure "C", go under structure "C" and head north to Red day mark "2" leaving Red "2" on your right head 45 degrees to Green day mark "3", from "3" head 50 degrees to Green day mark "5", at this time you should be able to see down our channel, the first Red for Marine America channel will be day Mark "10".
